Make your own ceramic lucky coin charm bracelet
By the end of the workshop participants will have made a ceramic coin and beads, decorated as they choose, to be strung onto a bracelet. This workshop is friendly for those new to clay – tools and materials will be provided, including decorative stamps to use if you choose. Choose the colour of your charms and your string, i will fire it in a kiln and make it into an adjustable bracelet for you!
This theme is inspired by coins used as early as the Qin dynasty, specifically 350 BCE when round coins with square holes were first introduced as currency so that they could be threaded onto string for easy handling.
We will go over:
- The fundemental properties of clay, including drying time and shrinkage
- Rolling and cutting the clay into a coin
- Shaping the beads
- Simple decorative techniques
- Signing or stamping your name onto the coin
- Polishing/finishing techniques
Participants can then select the string they would like for their bracelet, and it will be assembled and ready to pick up in approximately 4 weeks.
- Beginner friendly
- Tools and materials provided
- Choose your own style
- Assembled for you

Workshop led by Eva Greeves, an artist of Baltic heritage who explores themes of identity and belonging through organic forms and materials as well as primitive and traditional making techniques.
Her work is influenced by folklore, archeology, craft and ethnography; and like an alchemical process it fuses together archaic feeling and symbology with sentiment and poetry, to create talismanic, tactile items which contain spirit and energy.
