A multimedia journey through sea mist and forgotten histories
In the drifting mists along the coast of Guangdong, legend tells of a mysterious people — the Lo-Ting, half-human and half-fish — who dwell deep beneath the sea and among the scattered islands, belonging to neither land nor sea.
Whispers from the Sea is a hybrid performance weaving together storytelling, folklore, indigenous folksongs, and dance.
Inspired by historical texts, the work reimagines the forgotten coastal communities of Hong Kong, listening for the lost voices of those who lived — and drifted — at the margins of history.
